How to register a site

Most sizes and types of ‘construction’ activity can be registered with the Scheme. There are several ways to register a site:

Online Registration

This online system allows you to register and pay for the registration of your site/s online.
You can choose to pay by cheque, BACS, secure credit or debit card payment or pre-pay at the end of the registration process.

The registration system is made up of several pages, where you will be asked for specific information relating to your company, client and the project you wish to register.

At the end of the registration process you have the option of approving the information to appear on the posters that will be issued to your site/s.  This information can only be approved online if the optional fields called Site – Telephone: and Local Authority: (both on the site details page) have been completed.  If you do not know the site telephone number or the Local Authority at this time, you will be contacted to confirm the information after the completion of the online registration process.  In some cases, when posters are approved online, it may still be necessary for us to contact you to seek confirmation of specific details.

Postal Registration

To register your site simply complete the registration form then send it to the Scheme's administration office with the appropriate fee.

Registration in detail

Any activity that could be viewed by the general public as ‘construction’ can be registered with the Scheme.

The duration of the work must be longer than 6 weeks.

To register a site simply complete a Site Registration Form and send it to the Scheme's administration office, with the appropriate fee.

Registration process

Following the receipt of the site registration form and correct registration fee, all the information is entered into the Scheme's database.
Information to appear on the Scheme posters and the address where you wish them be sent is confirmed with the registration contact and the posters are produced and sent.

Long duration site registration

All sites with a duration longer than 18 months are registered either annually or in natural phases.
Each registered phase/year will receive new posters and additional visit/s.
Once a site, or registered phase of it, has completed, it is eligible to win a National Award. Sites registered either annually or in natural phases could win more than one National Award.
The fee payable when registering phases/years can be worked out by, dividing the total contract value by the number of phases/years. This figure is used as the registration value against the Scheme’s price bands.

Term Contract Registration

This type of registration applies to multiple works, with a duration shorter than 6 weeks which are all administered from one location or depot.
If there are several locations or manned depots, then each of these are registered separately and the appropriate fee paid.

All 'Term Contracts' are registered annually. Any site within the 'Term Contract' that has a duration of more than six weeks is registered separately and the appropriate fee paid.
The fee payable when registering multiple depots can be worked out by dividing the total contract value by the number of depots, then by the number of annual registrations. This figure is used as the annual registration value against the Scheme’s price bands.

Monitoring

Our Monitor will contact you to establish where and when will be most appropriate to visit your site(s).

Posters

Where possible, posters are to be displayed clearly at any location where works under the registered contract are being carried out.

In the case where there are insufficient posters supplied at registration, additional posters can be purchased from the administration office.

In the event of a serious accident or incident on a registered site, the Scheme reserves the right to instruct the site to remove its Scheme banners and posters, if it is deemed that the incident could possibly affect the image or reputation of the Scheme.
