| The National Site Awards 2012 are nearly upon us |
|
During March 2012, an estimated 3,000 guests will attend 11 lunch ceremonies to be held in Edinburgh, Manchester and London, where the Considerate Constructors Scheme's 2012 National Site Awards will be presented. Over 650 winners have been selected from some 8,500 eligible sites to win Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards; all sites that have been chosen to win an award will be notified in late December. One of the Gold winning sites will also be honoured with the prestigious accolade of the UK's Most Considerate Site 2012; with those considered for the title receiving Most Considerate Site Runner-up Awards. The Considerate Constructors Scheme's annual National Site Awards are given to only the highest scoring 7½% of sites, which have completed in the previous year. The awards recognise sites' exceptional standards of consideration towards local neighbourhoods and the general public, the workforce and the environment. The awards will be presented by leading industry figures, including: Michael Levack, Chief Executive of the Scottish Building Federation; James Wates, Chairman of the UK Contractors' Group; Chris Blythe, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Building; Derek Bostock, National President of Federation of Master Builders; and Don Ward, Chief Executive of Constructing Excellence in the Built Environment.
Commenting on the forthcoming awards, the Considerate Constructors Scheme's Chairman, Robert Biggs, said:
Previously we have seen some remarkable sites and this year is no exception. Each year we are delighted to see these standards being maintained and often exceeded, even throughout these tough times. These award ceremonies give us the opportunity to reward the efforts made by contractors in reaching the very highest standards. I would like to congratulate all those who have been nominated for an award as they are setting a great example by demonstrating best practice within the industry.
