National Company Awards
Every year the Scheme hosts the National Company Awards, whereby the most considerate companies are awarded for the hard work and dedication they have shown towards improving the image of construction.
Companies are selected for an award based on the score given by the Scheme's Monitor, but other criteria are taken into consideration, including the manner in which any complaints have been handled by the company.
The 2012 awards were held on the 29th November at Plaisterers' Hall, and 59 companies received an award for their exceptional efforts of considerate practice. The Scheme awarded 34 Bronze, 15 Silver and 10 Gold Awards, with Peter Norris (Haulage) Ltd also taking home the coveted title of Most Considerate Company 2012.
Commenting on last year's awards, Scheme Chairman David Watson said: "I would like to congratulate all of last year's winners on the Scheme's behalf, as every company who have received an award have proven their commitment towards improving the image of construction. That was the second year of the National Company Awards, and our Monitors have seen a positive change in the way registered companies carry out their projects, with those who received an award making an outstanding effort."
As with the National Site Awards, the Scheme invites a guest presenter to present each winning site or company their award, and last year the awards were presented by Chief Executive of the National Specialist Contractors' Council (NSCC), Suzannah Nichol MBE.
After the awards, the Scheme asked for feedback in order to understand how the ceremony was received and if there was anything which could be improved upon for this year. The comments the Scheme received were fantastic, and included:
"The experience was great and we all totally enjoyed the day."
"This was the first time I have attended and so I was expecting a memorable occasion. The event lived up to my expectations. Thank you."
"Fantastic day, great to meet others in industry."
The Scheme wishes to congratulate the winners of the National Company Awards 2012 for their proactive approach to considerate construction.
