New Associate Members
The Scheme is pleased to report that a further three companies have joined its Associate Membership initiative this year, bringing the total number of Associate Members to 51. They are: Ardmore Construction Ltd, R G Carter and Pochin Group.
Associate Member companies are those who have proved their commitment to improving the image of the industry through a high number of registrations that have consistently performed to a high level. Associate Membership provides a key link between contractors and the Scheme and allows for member companies to voice their opinions about how the Scheme can continue to improve the industry’s image.
Associate Members agree to register all their sites with the Scheme, for a period of three years, and to comply with all aspects of the Scheme's Code. In return, the Scheme will publicise the company’s Associate Membership, provide bi-annual meetings/dinners to discuss Scheme issues and supply monthly benchmarking information and statistics comparing the Associate’s scores with the national averages.
Ardmore's main activity is urban regeneration, creating beautiful and functional homes for people. Whatever the project, be it social housing or prestige riverside apartments, hotels or student accommodation, we aim to harmonise with the local community and build a quality development to enjoy and be proud of.
Considerate Constructors helps with this goal by auditing benchmarks that drive continuous improvement. It is not just about minimising our impact, although that is important, it is about making a positive contribution through our commitment to the communities in which we work and our support of organisations involved in construction, regeneration and inward investment. We care, and Considerate Constructors helps us care more.
We have invested significantly in developing our Employment and Skills Strategy to ensure that we are able to provide the skills required to offer improved and sustainable construction services, employing local people wherever possible.
We are delighted to be invited to join the Considerate Constructors Scheme as an Associate Member, and look forward to working together to create a safer, more considerate and sustainable industry.
Health and Safety Director
R G Carter is proud to be one of an elite group of contractors to become Associate Members of the much acclaimed Considerate Constructors Scheme.
We are totally committed to the eight core principles of the Scheme: being considerate; environmentally sensitive; of professional appearance; good neighbours; respectful; safe; responsible; and accountable. These principles align well with our own core values, our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, our Investors in People accreditation and our drive for continuous improvement.
Regional Director & General Manager
Pochin Construction Ltd is extremely pleased to have been invited to join the Associate Members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme. We are delighted that the hard work and application of all our site teams toward improving the image of the construction industry has been recognised in this way.
As a company, in recent years we have been focusing on our commitment to corporate responsibility; investing in our people, improving our standards of practices and adding value to the communities within which we work. Through working closely with schools and local education authorities we actively champion science, mathematics and design to the future employees of the world of construction and we are keen to promote equality and diversity in the workplace by encouraging more under-represented groups into the industry.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme plays a significant role in helping us benchmark our activities and standards on site whilst encouraging us to continually strive for excellence. Having the support and commitment at Director level has resulted in Pochin achieving our current high standards and receiving a Silver Award from the Scheme this year.
We hope that our Associate Membership will encourage more SMEs like Pochin to join the Scheme. We aim to work with our subcontractors to promote Company registration and further improve good practices on sites throughout the UK.
