Apprentices reach for the sky

National Apprenticeship Week 2012 took place from the 6th – 10th February and EnterpriseMouchel had a treat in store for their London based apprentices. They were given a unique opportunity to attend the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, to visit the launch site of London’s Air Ambulance.

Gary Burt (Community Engagement Manager, EnterpriseMouchel), who is also an Ambassador for the London’s Air Ambulance, had arranged the visit to coincide with a charity cheque presentation to the London Air Ambulance for money raised during a Christmas raffle and donations raised for every near miss and safety observation recorded since April 2011.

The helicopter's new home is on top of the new Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel and at 284ft high, the helipad is one of the highest in Europe, almost the same height as Big Ben. As well as providing amazing views over London the facility hosts state-of-the-art facilities for the crew.

Despite freezing temperatures, Diane Richens (Head of Corporate Fundraising, London’s Air Ambulance) had arranged for the Doctor and Paramedic Crew to be on hand to accept EnterpriseMouchel's donation of £1163.50.

In accepting the cheque, Diane said: “We are always grateful for the support offered by EnterpriseMouchel and it’s my pleasure to help them provide a once in a lifetime experience for their apprentices in National Apprenticeship Week.”
