This second phase of a £110 million project requires the design and construction of 14 kilometres of existing main road to dual carriageway.

Both safety and productivity received an innovative boost at this site due to the use of a special system for unloading and locating large concrete rings without the need for slings. Further safety initiatives included the invitation to a leg amputee to give a toolbox talk to site operatives. The site was also extremely pro-active in environmental conservation, with their archaeology commitment described by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency as "exemplar, and the way forward".

The wider community was supported in many different ways including the donation of a building to a community centre, comprehensive support for schools and colleges, and the extension of the site’s own defibrillators for use by various community medical services.

This site was described by the Scheme Monitor as "at the leading edge" of considerate practices, and was a superb model for the industry.
