Ivor's Red Nose
On 15 March 2013, Comic Relief's Red Nose Day managed to raise over £75m, and still counting, all of which will go towards supporting people living in both the UK and the world's poorest countries.
Like with many other good causes, the Scheme felt it was important to recognise Red Nose Day by encouraging its registered sites and companies to get involved in any way they could. In addition, 10% of all income generated through the purchase of Ivor Goodsite products, in the lead up to Red Nose Day, would be donated to Comic Relief.
Thanks to the Scheme's registered sites and companies, this was a huge success with Ivor Goodsite's 'Promoting Red Nose Day' signs flying off the shelves and all costumes fully booked for special fundraising events.
The Scheme has received an article from Costain, an Associate Member, who at their Newbury Parkway development, and despite the site coming to a close which meant low staff numbers, managed to raise £356.35. Throughout the day, fund raising initiatives included a 'guess the amount of sweets in a jar' game, 'put a name to the face' game, and due to the Comic Relief date clashing with the Cheltenham Gold Cup, a sweepstake to guess the race winner.
The Scheme would like to thank everyone for their efforts in representing the construction industry in raising awareness of this important charity.
