Prostate Cancer UK
Prostate Cancer UK are the leading UK charity for men with prostate cancer and prostate problems. They recently changed from The Prostate Cancer Charity to Prostate Cancer UK. The charity was set up in 1996, with an urgent mission to increase spending on prostate cancer research and raise awareness of the disease. It was founded by Professor Jonathan Waxman.
Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. They have three priorities:
• Supporting men and providing information
• Finding answers by funding research
• Leading change to raise awareness and improve care
The Scheme is pleased to support Prostate Cancer UK and help raise awareness among men working in the construction industry.
Prostate Cancer UK are building Men United, a growing team across the UK, to get the message out there about one of the UK's biggest man killers, support men affected by it, and raise funds to find more reliable tests and treatments for the future. Joining Men United is about men standing together, from the terraces to the pub and beyond, to say, quite simply, that men deserve better.
