Associate Members' meeting

On the 7th November, the Scheme held the last of this year’s Associate Members’ meeting at Coombe Abbey in Coventry.

The meetings are an opportunity for Associate Members to get together and discuss a number of Scheme matters, as well as hear the latest news and information.

Prior to the main meeting, the first Associate Members’ Working Group was held, made up of a small number of current members. The purpose of this group was to discuss the future structure of Associate Members’ meetings and the way forward for the development of Associate Membership.

The main meeting began with an introduction from the Scheme’s Chairman, David Watson, and the newest Associate Members were welcomed. Scheme Chief Executive Edward Hardy then presented an overview of the latest Scheme news and initiatives.

After the Chief Executive’s overview, members were split into discussion groups where they could hear about the latest developments to the 2013 Code and Checklist, and give any feedback for the Scheme to consider before it was published.

After the meeting, members were invited to drinks and a dinner where they could informally discuss the day and enjoy the rest of the evening.

The first Associate Members’ meeting of 2013 is due to be held next June, and more details will be confirmed nearer the time.
