Proud in pink

Collins Construction once again participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness 'Wear it Pink' day.

Despite recent advances, breast cancer remains the most common cancer. Each year it claims the lives of 12,000 women, with another 50,000 more being diagnosed.

Collins Construction feels by holding such an event across all our sites it not only contributes to the funding that is vital for ongoing research to find a cure, but also raises greater awareness to staff, subcontractors, client, tenants, visitors and members of the public alike.

The event took several months of planning and commitment by their staff and Safety Signs and Supplies (one of their preferred suppliers).

A total of 250 pink hi vis jackets and t-shirts were given out to all site staff and existing building users. All sites, including the company website, went pink for the day, and cake sales took place throughout the day.

An event at their head office culminated in a grand raffle open to everyone with prizes such as a 32" TV, iPad, printers, computer games, a Sony Smart Watch, restaurant vouchers etc.

All prizes were kindly donated by Collins directors and their preferred suppliers.

Collins raised over £11,000 for this worthy cause, exceeding their previous total by over £3,500.

Collins Construction is committed in supporting this charity and is a great example of the industry supporting a worthy cause.

Collins thanks everyone who contributed to this fun day, and every contribution made regardless of how small, will go a long way in hopefully one day finding the cure to save lives.
