December 2014

Issue 34

What a year Ivor’s had!

Sainsbury’s store in Sale participated in a regional

company fundraising event with the aim of raising

over £150,000 across the Northern zone. A group of

colleagues cycled to all 21 food stores in the Greater

Manchester area and each store took the opportunity

to raise money for their local charity of the year. At Sale,

they put on a cycling-inspired fundraising activity to

raise money for Hand on Heart, a charity working to

reduce the number of deaths of young people from

cardiac arrests and invited Ivor Goodsite along to join in.

It has certainly been a busy year for Ivor, with a diary full of visits. Here are just a few of the

fantastic events Ivor has been fortunate to have attended in 2014.

A number of the Bowmer and Kirkland Site

Management Team at Sainsburys DC, Basingstoke

took part in the annual 10k run to raise money for St

Michaels Hospice in Basingstoke. For some members of

the team it was their third year of participating. Bowmer

& Kirkland asked Ivor Goodsite to also take part and he

accepted the challenge willingly. The event was a great

success and was enjoyed by everyone. Ivor particularly

enjoyed helping out with such a great cause!

Atkinson Building Contractors held a community

fun day in Cumbria, with operatives dessing as the

Teletubbies and inviting Ivor along to help with various

games relating to the construction industry.

Ivor attended a community fun day at the Ardmore

Construction Deptford Project, where local job seekers

and students had the opportunity to get details of job

opportunities and a pre-apprenticeship programme.
