With over 38 years’ experience of working within the construction industry I feel

honoured to have presented at the awards.

These awards recognise the excellent work carried out across the industry

in raising the standards of what can be achieved in all the key areas of

construction. The best practice displayed by these awards is key to promoting

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a major contributor to improving

the image of the construction industry. Its Code of Considerate Practice is

the standard bearer for well managed sites that emphasises not only how we

relate to the communities in which we deliver projects, but also each other. At

the University of Salford we are teaching the future construction professionals

and the Considerate Constructors Scheme makes a major contribution to

making it an attractive profession for our students.
