September 2015

Issue 38

The Scheme was proud to take considerate

construction one step further this year with the launch

of Ultra Sites.

This truly collaborative approach

serves as the ultimate beacon of

best practice, enlisting the support

of the supply chain working on any

given project.

I wish all of our Ultra Site

trailblazers the very best with

the pilot scheme and may many

more construction companies

follow their lead by signing up as

Ultra Sites – the ultimate model of

considerate construction.

While on the subject of successful

collaboration, the Scheme is

proud to report a very successful

first year of Supplier Registration

– a dedicated registration for

companies supplying the industry

with essential goods and materials.

Supplier Registration has exceeded

our expectations, with leading

lights such as Wernick Hire and HSS

Hire among the first to sign up,

with 18 suppliers now making a

considerate commitment alongside

sites and companies.

Another initiative coming soon

is Building Social Value – an

assessment service provided

by the Scheme to report on

an organisation’s social value

Excitement is building as the

Scheme prepares for its eagerly-

anticipated Improving The Image

Of Construction (ITIOC) event.

There is still time to book a place

on this not-to-be missed showcase

featuring a wealth of advice,

support, expertise and innovative

ideas from both the Scheme and

other industry organisations.

September will also see the launch

of the Scheme’s latest instalment

of ‘Spotlight on…’ which will be

focusing on the serious subject of

occupational cancers. Sadly in the

past, the health profession and the

construction industry were not

aware of the cancer-risks associated

with the construction process.

Our ‘Spotlight on…occupational

cancers’ provides a wealth of

information for everybody to help

reduce the risks of these diseases.

There is plenty more to read in this

instalment of

Industry Image

, so I

hope you enjoy it and thank you for

your continued support.
