December 2015

Issue 39

Mike Petter

The Scheme would like to extend its congratulations

to all of the National Company Award winners whose

hard work was recognised at our recent awards

ceremonies in London.

The National Company Awards

are proof that not only sites,

but companies, are constantly

achieving new benchmarks in

their on-going efforts to improve

the image of the industry, rightly

recognising the most considerate

companies in the UK.

Another annual event is reviewing

the Monitor’s Checklist to ensure

that it is current and relevant,

and maintains a challenging set

of criteria for registered sites,

companies and suppliers to

consider. As always, we have

conducted a thorough review of

the Checklist and a number of

changes have been made for 2016

to make sure it remains up to date

and relevant. See page 14 for the

full story.

This issue of

Industry Image

marks the first anniversary of the

industry’s dedicated telephone

hotline – the Construction Industry

Helpline. Unveiled at the Scheme’s

2014 Drinks Reception, this facility

is proving to be a vital lifeline

for the workforce, offering a

sympathetic ear and practical help

in times of difficulty. The assistance

that has already been provided by

the helpline speaks for itself and

shows just how important it is to

support this fantastic cause. Read

more about this on page 6.

A new campaign the Scheme is

proud to be supporting is the

Construction Industry Training

Board’s (CITB’s) Go Construct

initiative and we hope the whole

industry will get behind it to

encourage the next generation

of bright young talent into the

construction industry. More

information on this can be found

on page 28.

We hope you enjoy this edition of

Industry Image

and on behalf of the

Scheme, I would like to wish you all

a very Happy Christmas and a very

successful – and considerate - New
