The Scheme is delighted that the Construction Industry Helpline is proving to be

an invaluable resource for the industry workforce, receiving 1000 calls during its

first year.

Construction Industry Helpline

– One year on, 1000 calls later

Over the last 12 months the

charity has taken over 600 general

welfare calls and 400 requests for

emergency financial aid, granting

£300,000 to help construction

families in financial distress.

The Scheme is delighted to be

helping this crucial work by

presenting the helpline charity

– the Lighthouse Club - with a

donation of £11,118 – the proceeds

from selling wristbands and A2

posters on behalf of the charity.

The Scheme’s Chief Executive,

Edward Hardy, presented the

cheque to the Lighthouse Club at

their annual Christmas Lunch on 4


He said: “The Scheme is delighted

to have presented the Lighthouse

Club with £11,118. The whole

industry has made a united effort

to support this charity dedicated to

the industry’s workforce and their

families. The Scheme is thrilled by

the level of support – let’s hope

Tragically one of our

carpenters suffered a

fatal heart attack on one

and the Construction

Industry Helpline in

place to help us with

their aftercare services,
