With the help of:
When the Cedar Developments team suggested
Honor’s Big Build to the Eastcliffe Resource Industrial
Centre - a workshop for adults with learning
disabilities – they were thrilled to take part.
Being very keen to recycle aluminium and wood
products, the group decided to build a scaled down
version of a traditional Manx Cottage – the thatched
roof cottage associated with the Isle of Man.
The Cedar Developments project team provided
materials the centre could reuse from the site,
including plywood from the old building that was
used to create a frame to hold the cottage together.
The cottage will be used in the Adult Resources’ new
garden centre and learning facilities, as a chicken
shelter when the birds are out of their coop. Because
of this, the team had to design a removable roof for
easy access and cleaning.
