Appointment of new non-executive directors
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is pleased to announce the appointment of two new non-executive directors to join the Scheme’s Management Board and assist with the on-going development of the Scheme.
Rupert Perkins, Contracts Director at John Perkins Construction, and Gren Tipper, Operations Director at the Construction Clients’ Group, both bring a wealth of experience to the Scheme and will offer new perspectives on current initiatives and will contribute towards the Scheme’s future direction.
Rupert Perkins has worked on a series of major projects in London for Taylor Woodrow Construction, culminating in two years as a section engineer at London Bridge Station as part of the Jubilee Line Extension Project. Rupert joined John Perkins Construction in 1998 as a contracts manager and was appointed contracts director in 2000. Holding a variety of external board level positions, Rupert is able to share best practice and use this to inform the strategic direction of John Perkins Construction.
Gren Tipper is a Chartered Builder with an exceptional record of achievement in construction, both hands on with large building and civil engineering projects and at a strategic level in developing integrated partnering relationships, predominantly in operational airport environments. Gren began his career as a carpenter and joiner and held a number of roles at BAA plc, culminating in being appointed head of pavement and infrastructure comprising over 200 multi-skilled members. Gren also holds other non-executive director positions with Constructing Better Health and CSCS.
On the appointment of Rupert and Gren, Scheme Chairman David Watson said:
I am delighted Rupert and Gren have accepted non-executive director positions and offer them a very warm welcome. The Scheme will benefit greatly from their vast knowledge and experience and they will both play an important role in helping to move the Scheme forward.
