The project team has been committed to creating a positive impact on the community, environment and workforce.

Project Highlights

Teams displayed a commitment to delivering high performance and in raising standards from the outset and maintained them as the project progressed. Community and schools engagement was impressive, with outreach programmes reaching 1700 students. Social value efforts generated a remarkable £122m. Environmental management procedures set a leading example, with dedicated carbon reduction efforts resulting in carbon-neutral status. The team’s positive and enthusiastic approach was exceptional.

Innovations and Best Practices

The site team were committed to raising standards and implementing outstanding examples of best practices. The team collaborated with an external industry body, the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP), which brings together construction stakeholders to address plastics use. Mace and 40 Leadenhall collaborated with the ASBP’s zero avoidable packaging project, to capture data and research to minimise the use of wasteful packaging onsite. Site teams also created a dedicated breastfeeding room for staff, demonstrating its commitment to worker welfare.

Respecting the Community

The project has taken a positive and proactive approach to social value initiatives. The team’s commitment to community and educational engagement is evident and continues to be truly impressive with the project’s net societal value now reaching £122m.

Caring for the Environment

Environmental performance remained a top priority, with the latest data showing continued high standards. The project proactively promoted improvements to benefit the natural environment. Net zero targets were met, and the team engaged with the supply chain to ensure alignment on carbon reduction policies.

Valuing the Workforce

The project maintained exceptional standards across all aspects of workforce support. Extended welfare facilities were provided throughout the building. Motivational speakers and “tea and talk” sessions were popular and well-attended. Events like nutrition week and a memorial day stand-down were well received. The project offered extensive training, addressing all aspects of workforce development to the very highest standards.

Congratulations to the team for these outstanding performance levels.
