Boosting the mental health and wellbeing of individuals and groups across the local community, SWS Joint Venture between Sacyr, Wills Bros and Somague for the A6 Dungiven to Drumahoe Dualling Scheme, sponsored a therapy assistance dog. Therapy dogs improve health by providing emotional support, living in people’s homes and visiting nursing homes, schools, hospices and hospitals. The dog named Mia was specially bred by the charity with parents chosen for their traits and qualities to suit the temperament and intelligence required of a therapy dog. Funding provided by SWS in partnership with Assistance Dogs Northen Ireland will pay for the training and future care of the dog. This initiative continues to leave a lasting legacy, transforming lives by providing non-judgmental emotional support to anyone that needs it.
