Company Registration certification evening
To mark the end of the first year of Company Registration, the Scheme held a special certification evening drinks reception in London to which registered companies were invited.
Hosted by Scheme Chairman, Robert Biggs at the Building Centre in Store Street, the event enjoyed a great atmosphere and an excellent address from guest speaker Chris Blythe, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Building. Representatives from a total of eight registered companies who had completed their first year of membership attended, each of whom received either a Certificate of Compliance or a Certificate of Performance Beyond Compliance, according to points scored on their last site visit, covered under their company registration.
Companies received a Certificate of Compliance if they scored 3 or more points in each of the eight sections of the Monitor’s Site Report, on the final site visit within their year’s Company Registration. Companies received a Certificate of Performance Beyond Compliance if they scored 4 or more points in each of the eight sections of the Monitor’s Site Report, on the final site visit within their year’s Company Registration.
As more and more companies join the initiative, the hope is that the Scheme can start advertising their membership to the public and industry clients and, over time, they will see membership with the Scheme as a way of selecting their builders.
To date this year almost 300 companies have joined the Company Registration initiative, and it continues to generate strong interest throughout the industry.
Scheme Chief Executive, Edward Hardy commented: “It was a highly enjoyable evening and an excellent opportunity to meet with registered company members. The feedback on the initiative has proved extremely positive and we are delighted that still more companies are now interested in joining.”
