NWPS Construction Ltd
NWPS Construction Ltd registered with the Scheme back in 2009 and won a Gold Award at the 2012 National Company Awards.
NWPS started from small beginnings – a partnership formed in May 1999, known as North West Property Services and based in Kinmel Bay North Wales, then becoming a limited company in 2001 trading as NWPS Construction Limited with offices in Rhyl and Chester. The company has continued to grow and develop with a reputation for providing a professional and friendly service, competitive and committed to carrying out the highest standard of work.
Initially the company carried out day to day maintenance works for Flintshire County Council. Then progressed to private works, insurance works, larger maintenance works for Flintshire County Council, refurbishment works for Denbighshire County Council and new builds.
The company continues to expand and develop its portfolio of work and is still happy to carry out minor works as well as the more extensive projects, such as ‘Splash Point’.
Splash Point Apartments
In 2008, NWPS was the principal contractor on the ‘Splash Point’ site in Rhyl, a 19 luxury apartment development.
As a company we have always worked to high standards of Health & Safety and customer care. We registered with CCS in 2009 to broadcast this and to make further improvements using the expertise and knowledge available from the Scheme.
We have found that compliance with the Scheme is often required to get through the PQQ stage of tendering. However, we have gone further than aiming for compliance and have embraced the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice and developed our systems and site management based on those principles. We won the Flintshire County Council ‘Customer Involvement Award’ 2012 Contractor of the Year. This would not have been possible without the effort and focus management and staff have put into working to the Code of Considerate Practice.
Registration with the Scheme has proved to be one of the best moves we have made and we would highly recommend it to other construction companies as the way forward. It is motivational, focuses on being ‘user friendly’ and is an asset to any company.
We find the Monitor visits extremely helpful. It is good to have our sites looked at through the eyes of an outsider and the comments made are always constructive and encouraging. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience which they are happy to share and which we are more than happy to receive. We never look at their comments (items for consideration) as criticism but rather as encouragement to improve further.
Registration with the Scheme has helped us gain more contracts. It has helped us to better plan and review our procedures. Being continuously monitored keeps us motivated, and in 2012, we were proud to be a Considerate Constructors Scheme Gold Award winner. We now have a track record which helps promote our business and gives potential or new customers more confidence that they are dealing with a professionally run company.
