Founder Client Partner meeting

The Considerate Constructors Scheme held a meeting with its Founder Client Partners on 21 September 2010 at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

The original Client Partners are now known as Founder Client Partners and the Scheme will work closely with this group of 11 construction clients to shape the future direction of the Scheme, and strengthen the links between the Scheme and clients of the industry.

The meeting began with an overview of the Scheme and then focussed on discussions about clients’ expectations of contractors and how Client Partnership can help improve performance. It was agreed that the Founder Client Partners and the Scheme will begin developing guidance notes, to assist and inform clients about the role they play in helping sites meet the Scheme’s requirements.

Edward Hardy, Chief Executive of the Scheme commented: “I am hugely impressed with our Client Partners’ input at the recent meeting. Client Partnership is moving forward and will be at the top of the agenda for the Scheme in the coming months. It is very encouraging therefore that our existing Client Partners seem so eager to work with the Scheme, to ultimately improve the image of construction. I look forward to working with both our Founder Client Partners and new Client Partners and hope the new acceptance criteria will see more clients follow in their footsteps.”
