Honor Goodsite’s Big Build Competition 2019 officially launches!
Honor’s exciting competition is going from strength to strength as it returns for a third year
The Big Build competition is free to enter and invites Scheme-registered organisations to engage with their local communities to design, build and decorate a famous or fictional structure out of recyclable materials.
Since the competition’s launch back in 2017, we have seen sites across the UK and Ireland work with schools, youth clubs and community groups to create some stunning works of architectural brilliance. Entries have included a historic Viking Longhouse, the enchanting Taj Mahal and futuristic self-sustaining railway stations.
Honor’s Big Build will run from 2 September to 29 November. Not only is the competition a wonderful opportunity to engage with your local community, it will provide a ‘shop window’ into our industry for young people and will get them thinking about an issue that only grows in importance – the environment. They will be shown first-hand how Scheme-registered organisations are doing their best to preserve it.
Thanks to our renewed partnership with CITB’s ‘Go Construct’, all participants will receive 25 fun packs and certificates for taking part. On top of this, winners will receive 25 Honor Goodsite Environmental Activity Books, a £100 Amazon Voucher for the school, community group or youth club that takes part and a free Honor Goodsite costume hire for the contractor, valid for 12 months. Additional prizes can also be purchased.
All that is required of entrants is to approach a school, youth club or community group, organise a date for the build, collect your materials – and build! Don’t forget to decorate it!
How to enter:
To enter Honor’s competition, download an entry form. Once you have filled it in, email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How to submit your entry:
Once you have completed your Big Build – it’s time to submit it! Download an ‘Event Form’, fill it in and submit it with at least five photos of your build (we prefer as many photos as possible!). We recommend using wetransfer.com to submit your entry as it will allow you to submit up to 2GB worth of files free of charge! So you won’t need to ruin the quality of your images in order to send them via email. The deadline for submission is 29 November.
