In a closely-fought contest, Keepmoat plc (comprising Frank Haslam Milan, Bramall Construction and Haslam Homes) has become the first company to reach a total of 1000 site registrations with the Considerate Constructors Scheme since it was started back in 1997.

The company reached this impressive milestone on 3 April 2008, having registered its first project with the Scheme nearly ten years ago on 2 July 1998.

The race to become the first company to register 1000 sites was very close, with Carillion plc being just pipped to the post with an impressive 997 sites registered by the same day. Morgan Sindall Group took the equally-close third spot with 980 sites, and Balfour Beatty plc came in fourth with 959 registrations.

In addition to achieving this registration record, Keepmoat can also claim the accolade of being the most prolific recipient of Considerate Constructors Scheme National Awards, winning a staggering 163 since the awards began.

Many companies now register all of their sites with the Scheme and to date 45 companies have each registered in excess of 100 projects with 25 of these registering over 200.

Commenting on Keepmoat’s record, General Manager of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, Edward Hardy, said: We congratulate Keepmoat on this milestone achievement and on their long-term commitment to The Scheme and its aims. It is due to the efforts of such companies that a large section of the industry now regularly competes to demonstrate the very highest standards of considerate practice, raising both their own standing as contractors as well as the standing of the industry as a whole.
