Return to virtual visits during lockdown

In light of the Prime Minister’s address on Saturday 31 October, announcing lockdown in England from Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December, the CCS is moving to offering virtual visits only for all CCS-monitoring visits taking place during this period, inclusive of CCS-registered activity located in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.

This means during this period onsite physical visits or hybrid visits (a combination of onsite and virtual visits) will not be permitted.

CCS registered activity which is due to receive an onsite or hybrid monitoring visit during 5 November 2020-2 December 2020 will be contacted by the Monitor and asked about undertaking a virtual visit instead. If the site would prefer to temporarily postpone the visit on the basis that they would prefer an onsite or hybrid visit, Monitors will let the CCS Administration office know as soon as possible, with a view to postponing this visit to after the lockdown period has finished, and in-line with any other relevant government measures which may be introduced in the future.
