Supporting Red Nose Day 2013

The Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice asks registered sites and companies to ‘respect the community’ and we see many fantastic activities and initiatives take place across the UK throughout the year.

Our industry has always worked hard to show courtesy and respect to those immediately affected by the work being carried out and to the wider community, and in 2012 the industry showed huge support for Child Safety Week and Road Safety Week.

The Scheme has been looking to recognise and promote other great causes in the same way and one such cause is the very well-known Red Nose Day. Comic Relief raises millions of pounds every year through its two main campaigns; Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, with the proceeds then going towards tackling the root causes of poverty and social injustice. The first Red Nose Day was held in 1988 and since then, it has consistently grown into one of the biggest charity fundraising events of the year.

The Scheme would like to encourage sites and companies to showcase their support for Comic Relief through their own community activities, and Ivor Goodsite will be ready to assist with events during the week, however availability may be limited so please book as far in advance as possible.

To help registered sites and companies show their support for this type of initiative, the Scheme has developed an Ivor Goodsite promotional sign, designed to be displayed on site hoarding or fencing to promote your site’s involvement and support. The sign features Ivor holding up a notice board which can display your own messages, and any sign bought between now and 15 March will display the message ‘Supporting Red Nose Day March 15 2013’. Ivor Goodsite promotional signs are available to purchase for £35 (+ VAT). If you would prefer to add your own message, please let the Scheme know when placing the order.

In addition, the Scheme will be donating 10% of all income generated through the purchase of Ivor Goodsite related products, including costume hires, from now until 15 March to Comic Relief. Many construction companies will already have plans to support Red Nose Day, but it is hoped that all registered sites and companies will consider recognising this cause in one way or another.

The Scheme hopes for your support and would like to encourage everyone to get involved in any way possible.
