Supporting Road Safety Week 2012

Following the enormous success of this year’s Child Safety Week in June, the Scheme has received a number of requests asking whether there are any plans to promote similar initiatives in the future.

Road Safety Week is one such initiative and this year will be taking place from 19 – 25 November. This event was set up in 1997 by the road safety charity, Brake, and takes place every November. Brake’s main aim is to encourage everyone to promote road safety in their community, in turn preventing road crashes but also offering support to road accident victims.

To help registered sites and companies show their support for this extremely important initiative, the Scheme has developed an Ivor Goodsite promotional sign, designed to be displayed on site hoarding or fencing to promote your site’s support for this nationally recognised event. The sign features Ivor holding up a notice board which reads ‘Supporting Road Safety Week 19-25 November 2012’ and will be similar in size and material to the existing ‘Hunt the Hazard!’ site sign.

Additionally, the Scheme would like to encourage sites and companies to showcase their support for the initiative through their own community activities, but also recognise and promote the hard work already undertaken to raise awareness of road safety.

Ivor Goodsite himself will be ready to assist with events during the week, however availability may be limited so please book as far in advance as possible. As a result, contractors holding events during Road Safety Week will be contacted and case studies of these events are to be published on Ivor’s website to further acknowledge and promote the week.

Ivor’s promotional sign will be on sale from Monday 12 November at £35 + VAT each.
