UKCG publishes Good Neighbour Site Guide

The UK Contractors Group (UKCG), one of the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s Supporters, has published a ‘Good Neighbour Site Guide’ which provides advice for sites on how to develop good community relations and manage the environmental impact of their activities on local communities.

Endorsed by the Scheme, the new guide provides straight forward, easy-to-implement solutions, ideas and suggestions which project teams can further develop and shape as they see fit.

The guide has been developed by UKCG members including Mace, ISG, Skanska and Kier, all of whom are also Associate Members of the Scheme.

Commenting on the publication of this new guide, Scheme Chief Executive Edward Hardy said:

The Considerate Constructors Scheme is delighted to be able to support the UKCG Good Neighbour Site Guide. Working with the community is one of the pillars of considerate construction and while we see our registered sites already doing wonderful things with their neighbours and the wider communities, this guide will help everyone raise standards even further. By working closely with the community, identifying those affected and ensuring regular and proactive communication is in place, sites will ensure that the image of the industry is further enhanced.
